These lovely people are all on my team of 5. They are AMAZING and I cannot wait to get to know them better and to learn from them in the months to come.
See 3! // Seek 3
Our team is called See 3! Or Seek 3! (We have been using both interchangeably.) In our time together as a team, we are wanting to SEE the Lord in the different elements of His character.
We want to see God as our Papa, our Father in heaven.
We want to see God as Jesus Christ our Savior.
We want to see God as Holy Spirit, our Comforter and Counselor.
As we see God’s attributes and His nature that is revealed through the Trinity, we will discover more of who God is. We are praying that this knowledge will increase our desire to seek after Him. After we press into more of Him through seeking Him we know that we will continue to see more and more of His faithfulness and goodness. There is a beautiful cycle of seeing God that leads us to seeking God and that seeking God allows us to see more of Him. We are excited for the ways that we will see God and seek God together in the time we are a team.
SEE God → SEEK God → SEE God → SEEK God…
Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you”. We want to be a team who seeks first the Kingdom of God.
These are the people I am living life with and who are walking with me and challenging me to live my life more surrendered to Jesus!
Isaak and Madison Goodmanson:
Isaak
Where are you from: Minneapolis, Minnesota.
What is your role on the Team? Treasurer
Why did you sign up for the Race? At the end of March, though my wife and I were not accepted until near the end of April.
What were you doing before the race? Professionally, a tire installer at one of our local Costco warehouses.
Describe yourself in 3 words: Corrupt (not in morals, by the grace of God, but in the basest, least sense: I know what little I know and am capable of). Intellectual. Pensive.
What is one passage from the Bible that you have been meditating on recently? John 21 — the redemption of Peter in the eyes of his Lord, the miracle of the 153 fish, Christ’s calling for Peter to feed the church, and the foretelling of Peter’s death.
What is one of your favorite books? Why? Crime and Punishment — Dostoyevsky; one of the best illustrations of the moral judgement all men must make for themselves: no one gets away with anything.
Favorite dessert? Coffee. And whatever glorious thing can be found to pair with it.
Favorite song on repeat right now? Amsterdam — Gregory Alan Isakov
What are 2 areas that you want to grow in during the next 9 months? The fear of the Lord — and thusly knowledge — and the power of the Holy Spirit. Applied, the two can become great wisdom.
Madison
From: Minneapolis, Minnesota.
What is your role on the Team? Health Coordinator
Why did you sign up for the Race? Mission work has been on my heart for some time and I believe that the Lord wanted to give us a season of refreshment and adventure in our time together.
What were you doing before the race? I was working two jobs, one administrative job at my home church, and the other as a trainer at Learning RX (helping kids work on their mental skills). We made our last payment on a large chunk of debt right after training camp! God was so good to help us close that chapter of our lives before staring this new one!
Describe yourself in 3 words: Spirited, creative, in-progress
What is one passage from the Bible that you have been meditating on recently? I have been reading through Ezekiel, and have paused on chapter 37 for a couple of days, reading about the life coming into Israel’s dry bones, and wondering what I can learn about God from that! I have also been looking at Isaiah 53 where the story of Christ is prophesied, foretelling many beautiful things that were fulfilled in His life. Very interesting!
What is one of your favorite books? Why? Oh man. I have not been reading nearly as much as I would like to. The Bible is obviously my favorite because it is the only text that is God-breathed and powerful enough to change me into the woman He designed me to be! However, for other reading, I enjoyed the Divergent series as a teenager, as well as the first few books in the Narnia series fairly recently!
Favorite dessert? Probably a classic, thick, chewy chocolate chip cookie. I know it is cliche, but it is timeless.
Favorite song on repeat right now? So many oldies! One that came to mind the other day was Redeemer by Nicole C. Mullen. Talk about power and an amazing voice!
What are 2 areas that you want to grow in during the next 9 months? I want to grow in knowledge and confidence in the power of the Holy Spirit as well as wonder and love for both the world and the people our Heavenly Father created! I know that this transformation comes with a burden for those people’s eternity, but it is worth it if it engraves the necessity of the Gospel for them into my heart, so I can carry that love and urgency home with me to the U.S.

What is your role on the Team? Team Leader
Why did you sign up for the Race? I was looking for mission trips with different organizations and churches and the World Race was a door that opened up for me. I felt called to missions from the beginning and have been filled up from what I have learned and feel called to share what I have been given.
What were you doing before the race? Highschool Math Teacher
Describe yourself in 3 words: Obedient, Listener, Curious
What is one passage from the Bible that you have been meditating on recently? Dang, there are so many…Hebrews 12:2; Luke 24:44-45
What is one of your favorite books? Why? The Bible, because it is something that I can constantly go back to because it is living and active.
Favorite dessert? Lemon Cake
Favorite song on repeat right now? Nothing Else by Cody Carnes and Yeshua by Eleni Baker
What are 2 areas that you want to grow in during the next 9 months? Compassion and Love and Faith

Describe yourself in 3 words: intense, sensitive, determined
What is one passage from the Bible that you have been meditating on recently? Psalm 80:18
What is one of your favorite books? Why? The Sacred Romance (John Eldredge) I love the way it describes God’s heart
Favorite dessert? Cookie dough ice cream
Favorite song on repeat right now? Why God (Austin French)
What are 2 areas that you want to grow in during the next 9 months? Wisdom & contentment
Elizabeth (me)
From: Redding, CA
What is your role on the Team? Squad Logistics
Why did you sign up for the Race? I wanted to give the Lord my first year out of college (ended up being my 2nd year out due to Covid) in order to pursue Him more and seek Him, but I wasn’t sure what that would look like. I also have a heart for international missions and sharing the gospel with people who have never heard. In November 2019, I felt like the Lord asked me to do the World Race which started the process of me being here now.
What were you doing before the race? I was working at an Assisted Living and Memory Care Facility in Redding as a caregiver.
Describe yourself in 3 words: Learner, Organized, Peaceful
What is one passage from the Bible that you have been meditating on recently? Psalm 25
What is one of your favorite books? Why? Hiding in the Light by Rifqa Bary and Face to Face with Jesus by Samaa Habib. Yes, I am including 2 🙂 Both of these books are testimony of women who were raised Muslim and how their encounters with Jesus led them to become followers of Jesus. I first read these books when I was in a season where I had a lot of questions about Christianity and the church and I have been very encouraged through the faith of these women and their deep love for Jesus.

Favorite song on repeat right now? Alpha Omega by Kingdom Culture Worship
What are 2 areas that you want to grow in during the next 9 months? Radical Obedience to the Holy Spirit & Deeper Dependency on the Lord
