UPDATE FOR WORLD RACE: I am currently 41% funded! Praise God! Thank you to all of you who have donated and been praying for my trip. Adventures in Missions has made the decision to postpone my World Race trip to October. I will now be leaving in October for 11-months. Right now, I do not know what countries I will be going to but I will let you know when that is determined. My route will be based on what the borders look like as we get closer to when I will be leaving 🙂

Hello all,

I pray that all of you are doing well in this crazy time. I have set out to write this several times, but I always seem to be at a loss of words on how to express everything that has happened. I think that this is because we are all affected in so many ways and for many of us our lives have changed drastically. For me, all of my class have been moved online for the rest of the semester, my senior tennis season has been canceled, and graduation is most likely canceled as well. It is crazy looking back and realizing that March 7th was my last college tennis match and March 5th  was the last college class that I will sit in. At least for a while 🙂 I know that this is the story for most of you. We had plans that have changed completely. While there can be frustrations with what is going on, there is something beautiful in this season as well. I have been able to spend some quality time with Jesus, go with my friend to her home for a week, and get to spend time with my roommates. Even in the hard and challenging, I am grateful for the time that I was able to spend with others that I normally wouldn’t have.

During this time, I have been reading Hebrews and James and both of these books have been teaching me about steadfastness. God is sovereign over every single situation and He is Good and Faithful. This is a season for me to remain present, reflect on the faithfulness of God, and grow in relationship with Him. While my situation has changed, God hasn’t. He is constant and near. While my plans have been altered, it was never about my plans anyway. It is all about God’s plans. He is still calling me to go on the World Race and I am excited. I am excited about the opportunity that I have still to go and I am excited about what He is doing to bring hope to our world.

Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near”. (Hebrews 10:19-25)

I am praying that in this crazy time you draw closer to the Father! He is our strength and comfort. Thank you all for your prayers and support! What is God teaching you in this season?

With love,

Elizabeth
